About Us

700,000 dead – and counting. $1 trillion in costs – and rising. Millions of addicts created – with their number growing every day. Those are the hard numbers associated with our nation’s opioid epidemic – one that began as a direct result of the deceptive marketing, over-prescribing and irresponsible distribution of highly addictive painkillers.

And although this epidemic has unfolded over nearly two and a half decades, when you look closely at how the responsible individuals and corporations are responding to this national emergency, you might be led to believe that the problem is not of their doing. In their eyes, there is no one to blame save the addicted.

As a result, unprecedented numbers of Americans in every state, once addicted, are left to fend for themselves – and all too often, left to die broken and alone.

To us, that is not acceptable.

We are The Opioid Spoon Project (OSP), a nationally recognized artist- and activist-driven initiative that is committed to informing and educating the public about this unfolding tragedy and promoting awareness about the white-collar criminals whose greed and indifference brought it to life.

We will accomplish this by placing The Opioid Spoon sculpture, created by artist/activist Domenic Esposito, founder of The Opioid Spoon Project on the doorsteps of corporations and individuals whose recklessness and irresponsibility have fueled the epidemic, publicly explaining their complicity and holding them accountable for their actions.

We will further raise our voice through this website, on mainstream and social media outlets, and by hosting accountability conferences designed to publicly identify the profiteers whose deceitfulness and misrepresentations have caused so much heartache and suffering.

Additionally, we will applaud and support the many organizations and agencies that are also fighting this crisis. We will unite with the larger community of parents and siblings, business and political leaders, journalists, artists, activists, and other concerned individuals who are working to rectify the damage done and insure that nothing like this ever happens again.

We will strive to inform and educate the public of the vast network of all involved and their roles, ensuring that society is aware of the monetary priority over the well being of humanity.

We will serve as the voice of truth, solutions and as a platform for constructive social change and legal accountability for the opioid epidemic and the deadly and destructive effects it has on people from all walks of life.
